Job Description / Responsibilities

The Colonial Beach Police Department is now accepting applications for the position of Police Officer. Duties entail full police services to the community. The Town of Colonial Beach sits on the southern bank of the Potomac River and is a small community in Virginia’s picturesque Northern Neck. The town of 3,700 year round residents doubles and triples during summer months; especially on Holiday weekends and during several festivals that take place from May to early October each year.

The Town offers an excellent benefits package for full-time employees. Full-time officers residing within reasonable mileage from the town will be considered for take home vehicles.


Candidates must meet the minimum employment criteria set forth in §15.2-1705 of the Code of Virginia. Current Virginia Law Enforcement Certification and experience is preferred but not a prerequisite.
