Qualified candidate(s) will be given an oral interview, a background investigation, a polygraph examination, and a physical and psychological examination after a conditional job offer is made. Salary Range: The starting base salary for entry level Virginia Certified Police Officer is $48,368. The top salary level for Police Officer I is $75,035. After 4 years as a Police Officer I, you will be promoted to Police Officer First Class if you maintain normal performance levels and have no disqualifying disciplinary actions. The pay range for Police Officer First Class is $50,786 to $78,786. (Current as of May, 2009.)
