Qualifications

Employment Requirements:

  • At least 21 years of age
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED
  • Health pre-screen to include vision no worse than 20/200 binocular and corrected to 20/20. Applicants will submit to a drug/alcohol screening.
  • Successfully pass all phases of the employment testing process and keep scheduled appointments as necessary.
  • Good character as established by a background investigation.
  • Acceptable physical condition in order to meet certain physical standards as determined by the Richmond Police Department. As a condition of employment, the applicant must abstain from the use of tobacco products while on duty.
