Dumfries police chief will retire

DUMFRIES, Va.—Longtime Dumfries Police Chief Calvin L. Johnson has announced his retirement effective Aug.1, after 27 years with the police department and 15 as its chief.
In a written statement, Johnson said: “I am looking forward to retirement and spending time with family and pursuing other activities including business opportunities and second career options.” He also said he would spend his time motorcycle riding as well as various other leisure activities and hobbies.
