Faith groups attack McDonnell’s liquor plan

News Image Religious organizations representing a range of faiths and views are rallying against Gov. Bob McDonnell's bid to sell Virginia's liquor monopoly.

For months largely silent on the proposal, religious groups now are openly opposing it as financially flawed, imperiling public safety and as a threat to families -- adding a social and cultural dimension to a debate that has been mostly economic.
