State police name new captain in Culpeper Division

A former Rappahannock County sheriff will be the new commander of the state’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation for the Culpeper Division.
Virginia State Police Capt. Gary T. Settle, 48, who served as Rappahannock’s top law enforcement official between 1996 and 2000, replaced Major Rick Jenkins effective July 25.
Jenkins was promoted July 10 to serve as the state’s BCI deputy director in Richmond.
