Torch Run Kicks Off Today in Richmond
May 19, 2010 | VACP
More than 100 officers from across Virginia will gather in downtown Richmond Wednesday, May 19, to officially light the Flame of Hope. This marks the beginning of the Flame's 1,900-mile journey across the Commonwealth leading up to the Summer Games, June 11-12 in Richmond. The ceremony, during which State Chair & Rockingham County Sheriff Don Farley also will announce how much the Torch Run has raised for Special Olympics Virginia this year, begins at noon outside the SunTrust Center. Join us and celebrate 25 years of the Virginia Law Enforcement Torch Run.
