Training Videos

The VACP has produced three training videos:

  • "The Traffic Stop — Doing It Right"
A 15-minute roll call video on conducting professional traffic stops.
(Produced with assistance from the Virginia State Police and the Virginia Sheriffs' Association.)
  • "Baby on Board: A Safe Ride — Every Time"
A short video designed for new parents to highlight the importance of using child safety seats. The video is perfect for viewing at birthing centers and pre-natal classes by the first-time or new parent. In addition, there is a 35-second Public Service Announcement at the end of the tape reminding parents about the dangers of leaving children unattended in a parked automobile.
(Produced with assistance from the Virginia Department of Health and the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles.)
  • "Visor Alert"
An eight-minute video roll call video designed to educate officers about Virginia's deaf or hard of hearing population and to help ease communication problems between officers and persons who are deaf or hard of hearing. The video also provide officers with the training necessary to recognize and use the Visor Alert cards.
(Produced in partnership with the Virginia Department of Deaf and Hard of Hearing and with funding assistance from the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles.)

Copies of these videos are available on request. Please contact Dana Schrad, VACP Executive Director — by or phone at (804) 285-8227 — for more information.
