Job Description / Responsibilities
FULL TITLE: Project Manager, Police/Corrections Partnerships: Strategically Targeting Criminal Enterprises
Position reports to the Senior Program Manager of Community Safety Initiatives. The Project Manager will direct the “Police/ Corrections Partnerships: Strategically Targeting Criminal Enterprises” project.
Manage national project to advance police-corrections collaboratives and intelligence-sharing to prevent and control crime, especially violent crime. Project objectives include:
- Document process and nature of intelligence-sharing partnerships between police and community and institutional corrections.
- Identify leading police/corrections collaboratives targeting criminal enterprises.
- Increase the number of police/corrections partnerships targeting criminal enterprises.
- Disseminate products widely to the law enforcement community.
- Supervise project staff.
- Prepare detailed work plan to achieve project objectives.
- Monitor contract/consultant performance.
- Assess effectiveness of project activities and resources.
- Build and sustain productive collaborations with DOJ funding agency professionals.
- Ensure rules-compliant investment and control of project budgets.
- Other duties as assigned by the Senior Program Manager or Programs and Research Activities Director.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline required. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of five years job-relevant experience. Role in managing national scope grant(s), ideally DOJ-funded, is a preferred experience.
- Core knowledge and skill requirements include: project development and management; police operations; correctional operations; presentation and group facilitator skills; computer literacy to include word-processing, spreadsheet, e-mail, and related business tools; writing and editing; capacity to multi-task and organize projects; capacity to work collaboratively and independently.
Special Conditions
- Frequent travel is required (approximately 10-20%).
- This is a grant-funded position of which this is the first year. Continuation funding will be sought.
Salary
Grade (9); Full-Time; Exempt
$58,000 - $60,000 (Commensurate w/ experience)
