A man was taken into custody following a standoff with police Wednesday afternoon south of Martinsville.County sheriff’s deputies and Virginia State Police troopers responded to a house on Brass Shop Road, near the Martinsville Speedway, after someone contacted law enforcement and urged them to do a well-being check at the house, Henry County Sheriff Lane Perry said.
