Amherst County agencies roll out mobile command center

Through the combined efforts of the Amherst County Department of Public Safety, the Amherst County Sheriff’s Office and the Town of Amherst Police Department, a new Command/Crime Scene Unit has been added to the county’s fleet of law enforcement and public safety vehicles.
Amherst County Sheriff Jimmy Ayers said that while the new vehicle belongs to the three parties, it will be made available to any regional agency needing it.
