Christopher Carson Hawkins will replace Police Chief Courtlandt Turner, who will retire on January 2, following six years of employment with the Town of Colonial Beach.
Hawkins began his career in law enforcement in 1990, working for the Suffolk Police Department first as a dispatcher and then as a patrolman. In 1993, he joined the Hampton Division of Police as an investigator and street crimes officer. A little over a year later, Hawkins then joined the Virginia State Police, ultimately rising to the position of Area Commander.
