FBI Agent Shot During Page County Raid
May 29, 2008 |
An FBI agent participating in several raids of Page County businesses and homes was accidentally shot during the investigation, according to an FBI spokeswoman.
Details are still coming in to WHSV, but we do know agents, along with the Virginia State Police, raided several locations.
IBR Corporation in Luray and the Valley Exxon in Stanley were searched Thursday morning by agents from the FBI and the IRS. Agents were seen removing evidence in boxes from both locations.
Both IBR Corporation and Valley Exxon are owned by Isaac George, Jr.
Agents also searched the homes of George and other family members. The accidental shooting of the FBI agent is reported to have occurred at one of these residences.
Both the FBI and the U.S. Attorney's office declined to comment on the investigation.
Both businesses were closed briefly, but later re-opened after agents conducted their initial investigation.
