Move means one of six majors likely to serve as Richmond interim chief
The Richmond Police Department's second in command will leave the department when Chief Rodney Monroe heads to Charlotte, N.C. to his new job as chief of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
Assistant Chief Ray Tarasovic, brought in by Monroe after he was hired in Richmond in February, 2005, confirmed he will leave the Richmond department with Monroe, who is scheduled to start in Charlotte on June 16.
