VACP Recommends Shrouding of Badges for Stanley Police Officer Nick Winum

Stanley Police Officer Dominic "Nick" J. Winum was shot and killed Friday afternoon while attempting to execute a traffic stop. Winum had been an officer with the Town of Stanley since 2016; prior to that, he had been a Virginia state trooper for 10 years.

Chesterfield police looking for volunteers to help hire new police officers

This new volunteer program will give authorized Level-1 volunteers the opportunity to participate in part of Chesterfield County's police officer hiring process. Volunteers will need to complete the same process police applicants go through, which includes a background investigation, a panel interview with department commanders, a polygraph examination, and a psychological assessment.
