Funeral Arrangements Announced for Master Officer Dowdy
Funeral arrangements were announced Friday for Virginia Division of Capitol Police Master Officer Woodrow W. "Buddy" Dowdy III.
RICHMOND – Funeral arrangements were announced Friday for Virginia Division of Capitol Police Master Officer Woodrow W. "Buddy" Dowdy III.Dowdy, a 33-year veteran of the agency, died Tuesday, shortly after being diagnosed with COVID-19. He was 60.
The family will hold a private gathering to celebrate his life, and they will hold a public celebration at a later date, possibly in June.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Fraternal Order of Police of Virginia. Please include "In memory of Woodrow 'Buddy' Dowdy III" in the memo line and mail to Virginia Capitol Lodge No. 79, P.O. Box 1138, Richmond, VA 23218.
