'Tis the Season for Giving...

In this season of giving, the VACP hopes you'll consider supporting our programs through an individual donation or other fundraising initiative.
It's the season of thankfulness and giving. We at the Virginia Association of Chiefs of Police & Foundation (VACP) are thankful for our members and all of our Virginia law enforcement officers who have dedicated themselves to making our communities better and safer. We simply hope that we are able to assist you in that noble endeavor, whether through training and educational programs, advocacy, consulting services, scholarships, officer recognition, or other programs or resources.

In order to provide that assistance, the VACP relies on a number revenue sources – membership dues, conference registrations, grants, corporate sponsorships and partnerships, proceeds from the sale of hiring and promotional exams, and individual donations.

With this in mind, we are asking you this #GivingTuesday to consider the VACP in your charitable giving. The VACP is a registered 501(c)3 charitable organization, so all direct contributions are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. We have set up several donation forms so that you may direct your gift either to general VACP operations or to a specific scholarship fund:

VACP General Fund Donation
A donation to the VACP General Fund helps support the day-to-day operations of the organization and helps us to provide a wide array of assistance and other resources to our Virginia law enforcement community.

PELS Scholarship Fund (aka, "Lex T. Eckenrode Scholarship)
This is a partial needs-based scholarship for the VACP's Professional Executive Leadership School (PELS) and is available to sworn law enforcement officers employed in the Commonwealth of Virginia who qualify for, and are accepted into, PELS.  The scholarship is available to individuals from organizations who have a financial need and are from a small department (35 or less sworn force) or are a graduate of the VACP's Institute for Leadership in Changing Times (ILCT).  The amount of each scholarship will be determined by the PELS Alumni Section Scholarship Committee.

VACP Training & Education Program Scholarships
These scholarships are intended to increase the learning opportunities for Virginia's law enforcement officers through needs-based discounts or fee waivers for the VACP's various leadership education and training programs.  This resource is generally most applicable to small agencies (35 or less sworn force) or those agencies with limited resources and training budgets and are only available for sworn law enforcement officers employed in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

VACP College Scholarship Fund
The VACP acknowledges the support police officers give their communities. In recognition of this, we offer a College Scholarship Program for dependent children of active police officers employed in the Commonwealth of Virginia. This is a needs-based partial scholarship, and the amount of the scholarship award varies. For more information, see the VACP College Scholarship Page.
