FBI accepting applications for 2019 Honors Internship Program

The FBI is offering the 2019 Honors Internship Program this calendar year. The application open Aug 24, 2018 and closes October 14, 2018.

The FBI Honors Internship Program

The FBI often participates in career fairs and other recruiting events where interested candidates have an opportunity to meet an FBI employee and learn more about internship opportunities and specific volunteer internships such as the FBI's Behavioral Science Unit in Quantico, Virginia, through our Visiting Scientist Program.

FBI Internships offer undergraduate and graduate school students throughout the United States an exciting insider's view of FBI operations, and provide an opportunity to explore the many career opportunities within. Interns will be assigned to FBI field office locations or FBI Headquarters in Washington, D.C.; the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia; the Criminal Justice Information Services Division (CJIS) in Clarksburg, West Virginia or other off-sites.
 
FBI Internship Program Overview
 
Honors Internship Program

• A paid internship program (contingent upon available funding)
• Open to undergraduate, graduate or higher level students
• A 10 week summer program
• Begins in June and ends in August
• Interns will work side-by-side with FBI employees
• Candidates must be enrolled and attending, a college or university full-time
• All expenses incurred regarding the internship will be the sole responsibility of the student

Pay and Work Schedule

• Students are paid a salary commensurate with their education level
• Students will receive annual leave, sick leave, and paid federal holidays while working full-time
• Students must be willing to participate for a term of at least 10 weeks, 40hrs per week (during the summer only)
• Continuance during the school year for a minimum of 16hrs per month requires a satisfactory rating from supervisor at the end of the 10-week summer program and availability within the HQ Division, Field Office or Resident Agency.

Intern Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen
• Must be enrolled and attending a college or university full-time that is accredited by one of the regional or national institutional associations recognized by the United States Secretary of Education
• Must be classified as an Undergraduate, Graduate or Post Doctorate Student.
• Must be currently enrolled and attending full-time (a participant cannot be graduating before the program begins in June)
• Must have and maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA for a college student) of 3.0 GPA or above on a 4.0 GPA scale, and be in good academic standing at the time of application
• Must pass all of the FBI employment background investigation requirements and receive a Top Secret security clearance
