Individual Donation

We at the Virginia Association of Chiefs of Police & Foundation (VACP) are thankful for our members and all of our Virginia law enforcement officers who have dedicated themselves to making our communities better and safer. We simply hope that, as an organization, we are able to assist you in that noble endeavor, whether through training and educational programs, advocacy, consulting services, scholarships, officer recognition, or other programs or resources.

In order to provide that assistance, the VACP relies on a number revenue sources – membership dues, conference registrations, grants, corporate sponsorships and partnerships, proceeds from the sale of hiring and promotional exams, and individual donations.

With this in mind, we hope you consider the VACP in your regular charitable giving. The VACP is a registered 501(c)3 charitable organization, so all direct contributions are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. We have set up several donation forms so that you may direct your gift either to general VACP operations or to a specific scholarship fund:

VACP General Fund Donation
A donation to the VACP General Fund helps support the day-to-day operations of the organization and helps us to provide a wide array of assistance and other resources to our Virginia law enforcement community.

VACP Training & Education Program Scholarships
To increase the learning opportunities for Virginia's law-enforcement officers, the Virginia Association of Chiefs of Police and Foundation provides Program Scholarships to eligible law enforcement agencies to attend the VACP's various leadership education and training programs.  Choose this option to designate your donation to support our Program Scholarships.

Frank Johnstone Memorial Fund for Women in Law Enforcement
Chief (Ret.) Frank Johnstone was VACP President from 1985-1986 and a strong supporter of encouraging women in law enforcement. This fund will be used to support the VACP's efforts to hold training for women and support women in law enforcement attending leadership schools.

PELS Scholarship Fund (aka, "Lex T. Eckenrode Scholarship)
This is a partial needs-based scholarship for the VACP's Professional Executive Leadership School (PELS) and is available to sworn law enforcement officers employed in the Commonwealth of Virginia who qualify for, and are accepted into, PELS.  Choose this option to designate your donation to support the PELS Scholarship Fund.

PELS Alumni Section Donation
A donation to the PELS Alumni Section fund helps support the activites conducted by the PELS Alumni Section.  The PELS Alumni Section conducts a mentoring program each year for ILCT students, hosts a Class Reception for each session of PELS, provides PELS Uniform Ribbons at no cost to every PELS graduate, and provides program and training support as needed.  Choose this option to designate your donation to support our PELS Alumni Section.
