REVIVE! for First Responders Instructor Training and Certification Course
There is no cost to attend!
Successful completion of this training course is required to become a Certified Trainer of the REVIVE! for First Responders Basic Rescuer Training. Participants must actively serve as a first responder in the Commonwealth of Virginia and have up-to-date CPR certification.
Organizations eligible to participate in this training include Law Enforcement agencies, correctional facilities and jails, Probation and Parole, Emergency Communications, Juvenile Justice, Fire Departments, EMS/Rescue Squads, LE/Ranger Divisions of State Parks/Forestry, and Military Police located in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Employees of the Virginia Department of Corrections (VADOC) should attend the REVIVE! FR Instructor Training & Certification: for CORRECTIONS & JAILS scheduled for March 13th or September 4th.
This training is open to first responders only. Individuals/ organizations that don't qualify to attend this training may participate in the Lay Rescue training managed by DBHDS.
The training objectives are to increase understanding of opioids, the physiological effects of opioid overdose, risk factors for opioid overdoses and fentanyl exposure, how to respond to an opioid overdose emergency with the administration of Naloxone, the role of public safety in the opioid crisis, and Virginia laws relating to naloxone and safe reporting of overdoses. This training also includes the administrative requirements to conduct REVIVE! training's.
This is a live, interactive virtual training. Participants must connect to the training using both audio and video. Participants must have their camera on for the entirety of the training.
