Police Crime Prevention Specialist
City of Danville is seeking a Police Crime Prevention Specialist to develop, coordinate and implement a variety of crime prevention, safety and community relations programs for the Danville Police Department.   The position will be responsible for identifying and organizing various resources to organize crime prevention activities, analyze crime data, statistics, and disseminating information to citizen groups, media, agencies and department units.    Additional responsibilities include preparing grant proposals. Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in related field. This position is a civilian position. Starting Salary Range: $49,066 - $58,879/annually DOQ. Requirements
Work requires broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field. Knowledge is normally acquired through four years of college resulting in a Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
Over three years up to and including five years.

Receives Limited Direction: This job title normally performs the duty assignment according to his or her own judgment, requesting supervisory assistance only when necessary. Advanced - Ability to read literature, books, reviews, scientific or technical journals, abstracts, financial reports, and/or legal documents. Ordinarily, such education is obtained in at the college level or above. However, it may be obtained from experience and self-study.
Advanced - Ability to apply fundamental concepts of theories, work with advanced mathematical operations methods, and functions of real and complex variables. Ordinarily, such education is obtained in at the  college level or above. However, it may be obtained from experience and self study.
Advanced - Ability to write editorials, journals, speeches, manuals, or critiques. Ordinarily, such education is obtained in at the college level or above. However, it may be obtained from experience and self-study.
