Auxiliary Police Officer
The Occoquan Police Department is seeking applicants for two auxiliary police officers. Community oriented officers are a must.  Candidates must be current Virginia DCJS certified law enforcement officers. Non-certified applicants will not be considered. 

The Town of Occoquan is located along the Occoquan River in the northeastern portion of Prince William County bordering Fairfax County. This is a volunteer position with no compensation.

Requirements Candidates must successfully complete a thorough background investigation, including a pre-employment medical exam. Candidates must meet the minimum employment criteria set forth in Virginia Code §15.2-1705 and be committed to the highest level of professionalism, integrity, and accountability.

Occoquan Police Officers are responsible for enforcing criminal and traffic laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia and the ordinances of the Town of Occoquan. The Occoquan Police Department encourages its officers to experience a variety of roles within police work and allows officers exposure to community policing, traffic enforcement, criminal investigations, impaired driving enforcement, bike patrol, special events, inter-agency cooperation, and specialized training.

Auxiilary Police Officers are expected to provide between 8-24 hours per month to the Town.  Generally, auxiliary police officers work with a second police officer on patrol or during special events.
