Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) is a nonresidential two-year institution of higher education that serves Central Virginia – principally residents of the City of Charlottesville and the counties of Albemarle, Buckingham, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa and Nelson. Our scenic campus is located in Albemarle County, Virginia. We are one of 23 community colleges in Virginia that comprise the Virginia Community College System (VCCS).
Patrols campus and properties to investigate disturbances, protect life & property, & report safety hazards. Operates communication & police equipment. Enforces laws, including College policies and parking regulations, within jurisdictional boundaries. Control crowds, traffic, parking & pedestrians during special functions, escorts visitors & dignitaries; responds to emergencies. Prepares reports; conducts initial investigations & secures evidence; serves legal papers; testifies in court and at hearings. Excellent interpersonal skills in communicating with students, faculty, staff, and visitors. |

Requirements |
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Significant work-related experience.
- Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and have a Valid Virginia driver license.
- Candidate must be currently certified as a Law Enforcement Officer through the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services.
- Subsequent to a conditional offer of employment, applicants must undergo an extensive background investigation. (State Code 15.2 -1705)
