Public Safety Executive Hiring Assistance

The Virginia Association of Chiefs of Police is pleased to offer Virginia localities and colleges our assistance in the hiring of a police chief / public safety executive. We have helped several agencies across Virginia with any or all of the following needs:

• consulting with localities / colleges on their police executive needs
• recommending individuals for interim police executive leadership
• crafting a police chief job description / position profile / job announcement
• advertising police chief / public safety executive position
• evaluating initial applicants for interview
• conducting a peer review panel of finalists
• conducting professional background investigations
• evaluating and/or recommending finalists for hiring
