
Professional Bio
As the VACP’s Director of Operations & Communications, Ms. Schrad is responsible for all of the VACP's communications and marketing, including web sites, social media accounts, member community, e-newsletters, photography, and other print and electronic publications. She is also responsible for the association’s financial management and all IT implementation and management. She assists the Executive Director with the general operations of the Association, including administrative management, board and committee management, conference planning, grant management, and implementing new initiatives. Programmatically, Ms. Schrad oversees the association’s awards and professional certification program.
Ms. Schrad has been a member of the VACP’s staff since August 2002. Prior to her employment, Ms. Schrad had volunteered with the VACP since 1996 and was an intern during the summer of 2000, at which time she created the web sites for the Association and its formally independent foundation, the Virginia Police Chiefs Foundation (now merged with the Asssociation).
Ms. Schrad graduated from the University of Virginia in 2001 with a B.A. in Studio Art, concentrating in Digital Media. She is also a 2002 graduate of the Rocky Mountain School of Photography’s Summer Intensive Program and a 2023 graduate of Association Leadership Virginia.
Ms. Schrad is a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, the American Society of Association Executives, and the Virginia Society of Association Executives.
