Professional Bio

George Vieira serves with the Albemarle County Police Department as an Evidence Unit Sergeant, where he oversees the day-to-day operation for the Property and Evidence Unit. George serves as the President of the Virginia Association of Property and Evidence Professionals (VAPEP), helping promote professional development and the best practices for evidence professionals across Virginia.

George began his career with the University of Virgina Police Department in 2010 and started managing their Property and Evidence Room in 2012. He left for the Albemarle County Police Department in 2017. George began his current position at ACPD in 2024 after two plus years as a patrol supervisor on both Evening and Midnight Shifts.

George is a graduate of the 89th Session of the Virginia Forensic Science Academy. He is passionate about promoting integrity, honesty and strengthening strong relationships between sworn and non-sworn personnel as well as with the communities served and protected by those individuals each day.
