LEECP Re-Certification Application Received

Your RE-CERTIFICATION application for the VACP's Law Enforcement Executive Certification Program (LEECP) has been received. The Program Committee will review your application and contact you if they have any questions.

Upon approval of your certification renewal application, you will be issued an invoice for the re-certification program fee (VACP/VACLEA members are eligible for a discounted program fee). Your certification renewal will be issued after payment of the program fee is received.  Please do not attempt to pay the  fee BEFORE your renewal application is approved.

Certification renewals validate your initial certification for another three (3) years from the date of renewal. In order to renew your certification at each three-year mark, you will need to:

• be actively employed as a sworn law enforcement officer for a VA agency with primary law enforcement responsibility at the time of application for certification renewal;
• have maintained DCJS law enforcement officer certification by completing the required hours of approved training every 2 years;
• regularly attended VACP/VACLEA conferences during the preceeding 3 years (3 conferences in 3 years for CEOs // 1 conference in 3 years for Command Executives); OR, show documented completion in the prior three (3) years of:
  • additional advanced education degree or certificate program(s) from an accredited college; or,
  • additional Tier I, II, or III professional development course(s).

Membership in VACP or VACLEA is no longer required to participate in the VACP LEECP or renew your certification; however, members in good standing at the time of application approval will be eligible for a discounted certification renewal fee.
