Click It or Ticket Campaign: May 12-June 1
This year’s statewide Click It or Ticket campaign runs from May 12 to June 1, 2025, reminding everyone to buckle up—every trip, every time. The campaign focuses on raising awareness about the importance of seat belt use, no matter how short the drive.
Starting July 1, 2025, a new Virginia law will require all passengers to wear a seat belt while riding in the back seat. Stay safe and buckle up!
We encourage our highway safety partners to utilize the provided resources on their social media accounts to amplify the message of seat belt safety.

- We further encourage to collaborate with local businesses to display buckle-up messages in storefronts, restaurants, schools, and other relevant locations.
We also encourage our Highway Safety partners to attend the 2025 Click It or Ticket Kickoff Press Conference on Friday, May 23 at 10:00 AM hosted by AAA Chesterfield (11261 Mall Place, North Chesterfield, 23235).
